"The Surveyor and Truck at Station Sauharita" Surveying Print, Limited Edition

This is a pencil drawing of a surveyor set up on the Sauharita Instrument Station, one of the few drive-to stations along the Arizona-Mexica border area, March 1935.

Frames are 19 ½” x 22 ½” and are made from solid oak 1” x 1 ½” with silk screened increments on the front resembling a surveying level rod. These are shipped without picture hanging hardware. Custom frame, black mat and art guard inspiration ultraviolet blocking non-glare glass.

I have always been interested in drawing in pencil, but I was really inspired when I saw sketches of the mercury space program depicted by Paul Calle, the NASA artist of the time. Since then, I have strived for perfection in my illustrations. I have drawn several sketches of President Lincoln and the Civil War Era. I have found myself very intrigued in the early pictures of the land surveying trade.
